The Great Plains During World War II

HERE ARE RATION POINT CHANGES FOR JANUARY

[Ed note: The main body of this article is a detailed chart which cannot be adequately recreated as text. Please see the page image.]

Quite a few frozen foods, including apples, rhubarb, asparagus, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, snap beans, mixed vegetables, beets, carrots, leafy greens, pumpkin, squash and prepared dry beans go off the ration list entirely in the January point table, above. But frozen spinach, and jams, preserves and marmalades are up. Beef points generally remain the same. Boneless rib, short loin and sirloin beef roasts are now classed as bone-in rib cuts and drop in point values down to 6 and 7, according to size. Most pork cuts are down a point as are ready-to-eat meats, sausage and tongue.
