Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Area (located near Great Bend, Kansas) consists of 20,000 acres of wetlands, which has attracted 615 bird species from the U.S., 417 of which are in Kansas and 320 in the Cheyenne Bottoms area. In addition, there are 23 species of mammals and 19 species of reptiles. This area has become a "birding" paradise during the Fall migration.
