The Plains Humanities Alliance webmaster reserves the right to exclude images located outside of the Great Plains region, images that duplicate pictures already in the Gallery, or inappropriate material.

We need YOUR help to make this on-line gallery come alive!
We are looking for a fresh perspective on what it means to live in the Great Plains. Classic shots of wide-open fields can reveal subtle nuances of the Plains landscape, but there are also other ways to explore the true character of the region and its people. Through your amateur photographs we can show the world what life here is really like. Creativity is encouraged, and keep in mind that simple snapshots are just as welcome as professional quality images.
Who can submit a photo?
Anyone, world-wide, who has a unique picture of the North American Great Plains (preferably within North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, or Oklahoma).
How do I send one in?
- Include your name and contact information (email, phone, or street address), so we can get in touch with you if necessary.
- Include a caption stating WHERE the image was taken, and if possible a date and a short description. For example, "This windmill picture was taken near Red Cloud, Nebraska, just before a huge thunderstorm. Photograph by My Name, 1993."
- Send digital images by email to plains1@unl.edu
- Send a .jpg file, and please keep it small, 400x400 pixels at 72 dpi maximum.

Or send a print of the image to the address below. Unfortunately we will not be able to return the picture to you, so don't send your only copy!
